Description
The Aqua Kit is used with Super AquaPros™ to activate the dormant, probiotic bacteria contained in the jar, increasing their numbers to 2 billion cells per gallon in a water bath. This is accomplished by maintaining a water temperature of approximately 90°F for 24 hours while aerating the water. The Aqua Kit contains a 200-watt, submersible heater, a twin-outlet air pump, air line, air stones, and a floating thermometer. It may be used repeatedly, and, if properly maintained and stored, it may be used for many years and dozens of treatments…
Instructions for Brewing Super AquaPros™
- Select a plastic container that is of sufficient size to brew Super AquaPros™. Each pound will produce 25 gallons of finished product, appropriate for up to 1.5 million gallons, or 5 ac.ft. of water. If you wish to treat 1 ac.ft. of water, separate the 1-lb jar of Super AquaPros™ into 5 equal parts and brew with 5 gallons of water…
- Make sure the container (or drum) is clean and free of pesticides or herbicides. This can be accomplished by rinsing with ammonia, followed with a thorough rinsing with soap and clean water.
- Add well water (or water free of chlorine/chloramines) to the container, filling it to the level governed by your application amount.
- Aerate the water with air stones, such as two (2), 4-6” air stones in a 55-gallon drum, or a small air stone in a 5-gallon bucket. For most application, a medium-sized two-outlet, air pump is sufficient. If you think that chlorine could be present in the water, aerate for at least 24 hours before adding Super AquaPros.
- Add a submersible heater to maintain the brewing temperature between 88°F and 90°F (about 32°C). The heater size should be at least 100 watts, but heaters rated at 200 and 300 watts may also be used to accelerate the initial warm-up, or to offset cool background temperatures.
- Operate the system for a short time prior to adding Super AquaPros™, ensuring the temperature has stabilized near 90°F (32°C) and the aeration is working properly. Then, add the appropriate amount of powder for your application.
- Brew the culture for 24 hours, making sure the temperature and the aeration are maintained throughout the process. Furthermore, the brew should begin to develop a strong, somewhat offensive, odor near the end of the process. This means that you have done a good job! If you do not smell this odor, then perhaps you need to brew it a few hours longer, or until you do detect the smell.
- The finished product should be applied to the pond, soon after the 24 hours of brewing has been completed. If you need to hold the mixture longer prior to application, continue to aerate and drop the temperature to around 75°F (24°C).
- Keep any remaining Super AquaPros™ powder in the jar with the lid tightly closed, and store it in a cool, relatively dry location. The shelf life is several years.
