SEPTIC SOLUTIONS
The Biological Solution to Septic Pollution

SEPTIC SOLUTIONS is a safe and complete, microbial formulation, selected and bred to digest all normal products that people put down their drains, toilets, and sinks. Working in concert with one another, the friendly microorganisms in SEPTIC SOLUTIONS decompose: (1) proteins; (2) fats, oils, and grease; (3) sugars, starches, and complex carbohydrates; (4) detergents; (5) phenols; and (6) toilet paper. The result is a clean, odor-free, and properly-functioning, septic system or sewage treatment system.
A complete and compatible microbial formula is important, because microorganisms normally found in septic tanks or sewage treatment systems do not digest drainage water from modern households. The problem comes from their inability to decompose vegetable oils, high loads of fats, some of the complex carbohydrates, cellulose, detergents, phenols, and toilet paper. If these compounds are not decomposed to carbon dioxide, water, and essential minerals, they can contribute to clogging in sink drains, plumbing pipes, and drains fields. These problems can result in expensive clean outs, pump outs, and persistent odor problems. In extreme cases, entire septic systems may have to be rebuilt or re-established!
To prevent these negative effects from occurring in your life, it is important to maintain your septic tank and plumbing system with a complete microbial formulation. SEPTIC SOLUTIONS provides such a formulation, which only needs to be added once or twice per month, easily introduced through toilets or sinks. Once applied, the powdered microorganisms become liquefied and they coat the submerged surfaces, to form a biofilm, which continually digests and decomposes the products listed above. Working in concert, these friendly microorganisms break down the incoming products to carbon dioxide, water, and essential minerals. Also, odors are removed because the microorganisms stabilize the system and offset the need for the production of noxious fumes.
The seven strains of microorganisms in SEPTIC SOLUTIONS are found in the Bacillus and Pseudomonas genera. They are spore-forming microorganisms, so they have been freeze dried into a powder form, in order to provide years of viability. They are non-pathogenic, non-corrosive, and they are safe to handle and apply. They work best in a pH range from 6.0 to 8.5, with optimal performance near neutrality, or near a pH of 7.0. Temperature also affects the activity of these microorganisms, for as temperature increases, so does their activity. Their optimal temperature is around 70°, while they can remain active down to 40°F and over 100°F. Furthermore, the presence of oxygen is important for best results, even though some activity can be expected without it. For best results, consult Aerated Septic Systems at: http://www.aeratedsepticsystems.net.
The concentration of SEPTIC SOLUTIONS is approximately 4 billion microorganisms per gram, or over 1.8 trillion microorganisms per pound. That concentration results in the following recommended dosages.
- 500-Gallon, Septic Tank: 1 tablespoon/week, or 4 tablespoons (or about 2 oz./month)
- 1,000-Gallon, Septic Tank: 2 tablespoons/week, or 8 tablespoons (or about 4 oz./month)
- Sewage Treatment Lagoons: add 2 ppm/day, calculated according to the following formula:
Dosage (lbs.) = (gallons in system)(8.3 lb./gal.)(2)/ (1,000,000)
If severe problems exist, it is recommended that you increase the dosage, two-to-three times above the maintenance dosage. These amounts are considered "shock treatment levels" and should be administered only for a few days or a couple of weeks, until the problem is abated or is improved. Afterwards, maintenance levels should be sufficient to maintain proper treatment levels
